Job purpose:

• To carry out fabrication / plating and associated activities in accordance with line management instructions

The Shift Team Leader is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Biomass Power Plant at Widmerpool. You will manage all aspects of the Biomass Power Plant to ensure it functions at maximum levels of safety, availability, efficiency and power output.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Ensure that the plant is always operated within prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental constraints and guidelines. 
• Detailed incident reporting and collation of data as soon as possible after any accident/incident. 
• Emergency Response: ensuring that the team responds correctly to any plant emergencies. 
• Complies with all safe working processes and procedures. 
• Ensure that all production tasks are carried out within the bounds of the Plants Safe Work Processes (Safety Rules, Method Statement/SOP & Risk Assessments). 
• Provide effective administration and application of Safe Systems of Work and Health & Safety policies. 
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permit. 
• Familiarity with all operating standards and reporting requirements for the plant. 
• Carry out first line diagnosis and maintenance activities in conjunction with current procedures in order to preserve the highest levels of safety, environmental compliance, plant integrity and availability. 
• Comply with and actively participate in Company rules, procedures and initiatives, in particular those relating to Health, Safety, Environmental management and Continuous Improvement. 
• Keep the Management team well informed of all aspects of plant performance which may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective operation of the plant. 
•  Day to day operational responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the Fuel Feed, Furnace, Boiler, Steam Turbine, Flue Gas Treatment, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS), Ash Collection Systems and balance of plant including Water Treatment Plant. 
• Perform the role of a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) in line with Limited Safety Rules. As such, ensure Safety from the System is achieved by safely isolating, depressurising, draining and cooling aspects of Plant and Apparatus as necessary to enable rectification/maintenance works to be carried out safely. 
• Actively participate in daily Work Control meetings with the site management team to ensure effective communication of plant performance and to assist in the co-ordination of essential maintenance activities. 
• Assist in the completion of minor routine and breakdown maintenance tasks. 
• Carry out fault diagnosis and correction on all systems associated with the Biomass plant operation.  
• Perform operational routine duties as required. 
• Supervise and deploy manpower as appropriate to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of all activities on site. 
• Maximise steam production and consequently turbine generator output to ensure contractual minimum generation targets are met and exceeded. 
• Ensures that the prescribed level of competent personnel is available on shift at all times, though the consistent management of holiday entitlement, sickness and requests for shift swaps. 
• Operate/monitor plant from a central Control Room, operating plant and apparatus as required to fulfil operational demands. 
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels and produce clear, concise reports. 
• Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work at the Plant. 
• Liaise with other Company staff as required to provide efficient work scheduling and planning to ensure minimum turnaround times during plant outages. 
• Provide effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties. Provide continuous development training to ensure maximum levels of flexibility are maintained. 
• Assist in the collation and recording of data required for Regulatory EA and Ofgem compliance. 
• Assist with the creation and continuous review/improvement of site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
• Ensure a comprehensive record of all daily activities are recorded in a formal logging system. 
• Ensure water quality testing is carried out on both water and steam systems. Take appropriate corrective actions to ensure both water and steam quality stay within set parameters. 
• Report and log operating plant defects in the CMMS system and communicate to the Maintenance team. 
• Ensure that high levels of plant housekeeping are maintained to ensure that the plant is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times.

Education & Experience:

• Recognised apprenticeship/engineering qualification. 
• Practical experience in an operations or maintenance role in a power generation, EfW, marine propulsion, petrochemical or process systems setting. 
• Experience of operating plant via a DCS/SCADA interface. 
• Knowledge of pressure systems, LV and HV electricity preferable. 
• Proficient IT skills including word & excel for reporting duties.  
• Understanding of Safe Systems of Work. 
• Willingness to work shift systems associated with a 24/7 operation 
• Completed the required company induction into this role

This pivotal role operates in a highly mechanised and automated setting. Equally vital is the expertise in identifying hazards and implementing safety procedures tailored to their specific area of responsibility and maintenance tasks.

As the Financial Accounting Analyst you will Assist with financial accounting activities and supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and audits.

Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Assistance with the preparation of year end statutory accounts for several entities.
• Assistance with UK statutory and group audits.
• Completion of multiple balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with required timescales and company policy.

The Opportunity
As the Engineering and Maintenance Manager you will provide, leadership and management of FCHP E&M philosophy, strategy, actions, results and compliance during all running states. You will successfully lead, direct, organise and manage the E&M Department to the requirements of the business Operating standard. You will be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;  

• Using the framework of disciplined maintenance as best practice, ensure the effective communication and understanding of E&M processes and systems by all department employees and personnel required to complete E&M tasks.
• Provide appropriate guidance and support for all major engineering and maintenance events at FCHP including outage and plant shut down, unplanned and planned events and incidents. Provide leadership regarding investigations, processes, procedural actions and communications.
• Ensure the controlled development, application and monitoring of site technical specifications, E&M policies and procedures appropriate to FCHP throughout its lifecycle.
• Lead and manage the FCHP E&M Department and other assigned personnel ensuring they meet the standards. Take overall responsibility for their supervision, development, welfare and engineering capability and competency in discipline areas and their ability to address technical requirements ensuring standard implementation.
• Set/agree engineer personal objectives and conduct performance appraisals to develop and manage the E&M team consistent with achieving business KPI’s.
• Understand the HSE principles of maintaining an Upper Tier COMAH site and the requirements of the COMAH MAPP and COMAH Report. Be fully conversant with the COMAH delivery guides in all aspects relating to engineering and maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in engineering discipline or engineering apprenticeship with extensive relevant experience and noted continued professional development.
• E&M experience in a 24/7 process at department head level.
• Identifying and managing engineering risk. 
• Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering compliance and legislation, including ATEX & DSEAR.
• Understanding and driving the department for Key Performance Indicators as set with the working contract. 

The Project Supervisor shall report & be responsible to the Project Engineer, Site Manager or Senior representative. The Project Supervisor is the company’s representative for the contract on a daily basis. In this role, they will naturally have regular contact with the customer & others outside of the company’s organisation.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage & deliver the company’s contracts safely, to a high degree of quality, on time & profitably whilst maintaining client satisfaction. Ensure compliance of health & safety including relevant legislation & particular client requirements & housekeeping. Bring all concerns of safety, quality, commercial or technical matters to the attention of the Senior Representative immediately
• Carry out safety Site Audits with the Auditing & Monitoring documents provided in the job pack. Report & review findings with appropriate Senior representative
• Hold weekly site update meetings to ensure any grievances/queries are resolved promptly & to roll out “Tool Box Talks” as required. Instruct all those under your direction to notify you immediately where potential disputes are identified
• Set up site or office-based establishment in a professional manner as per procedures ensuring communications and systems are up and running along with the necessary welfare requirements
•  In conjunction with the F.S.R. review the scope of works document in detail. Ensure a clear understanding of the documentation, the content, & the procedures to be followed during the various stages of the project. If in doubt, ask
• Establish the nature & content of site documentation with the F.S.R. & ensure that all site records & project notices are understood, maintained & delivered to the appropriate parties e.g., Interpreting engineering drawings, schedules, vendor specifications & ‘Red pen’ As built construction drawings & documentation etc. Ensure that you have been provided with all the project documentation & that this is available on site
• Establish with the F.S.R & client who is authorised to instruct & sign for site variations & changes to the works. Obtain written instructions from the client & Project Engineer to commencing any additional work, changes, or overtime. If you need support on this liaise with the Senior Representative or HQ. Do not proceed with a variation until written permission gained from the client and F.S.R.
• Where appropriate obtain daily signatures from the client to record the hours, plant, materials, & transport & sub-contract expenditures
• Plan, direct, provide information & co-ordinate the company’s personnel, plant, materials, transport, & specialist sub-contractors. Ensure strategy is formulated to promote acceptable & efficient usage of the company’s resources including all resource, plant, materials& transport ensuring the most efficient use of i.e., least amount of vehicles as possible, maintaining plant list & report any non-conformances to HQ
• Project documentation such as time sheets, daily allocations or variations to be completed as appropriate & to be submitted to the F.S.R. as appropriate or HQ
• Provide periodic information (as requested) to the F.S.R.to enable them to raise invoices for all works carried out including all variations to the works. Provide administration staff with timely, accurate information as requested
• Plan & maintain regular meetings with the client & project senior company representative to discuss current & future resources & look ahead, discuss any difficulties or shortfalls, & define effective methods of mitigation or solution. Anticipate & act to mitigate disputes & differences before they occur by regular reviews with the F.S.R. & the client
• Set objectives/tasks for field operatives & ensure that they are achieved as per the times given within the estimate and project program. Time keeping is extremely important in our field of work. The Project Supervisor will ensure site hours are worked as stipulated by the F.S.R. – any changes to this are to be authorised and highlighted. Work with individuals under your supervision & establish methods to achieve the best output from your team.
• Coach team members under your supervision & highlight any persistent poor performance. Identify the need for training & highlight any competency concerns to the F.S.R.
• Ordering of materials & plant are per policies, checking that they are as per specification, safe to use & within budget. That a site plant list is available and to ensure that they are all, were relevant returned to HQ in a clean and compliant condition, booked in and placed in the appropriate storage place as per policies
• The handover of the work or site to the client is paramount to our quality plan & therefore the Project Supervisor hall make themselves aware of the full requirements in order to plan well in advance to ensure all is completed including any special requirements. Handover may take place during a handover meeting following an inspection of the site
• Ensure that complaints including ‘snagging’ elements are communicated to the Project Engineer immediately so that they can be dealt with quickly & in full compliance with the company’s procedures
• To be hands-on installing or inspecting with small to large projects when required

Qualifications Minimum

• 5+ year post relevant experience
• C&G/NVQ Electrical L3, L4, HNC (as stated in AE & T JIB Grading’s below) are preferable but a mixture of experience & qualification will be utilised if not all criteria are met on a case-by-case basis
