Welding Coordinator and QC Officer

We are looking for a Welding Coordinator and QC Officer for our client based in Grimsby.

You will be required to provide specialist compliance activities within the pipework and fabrication teams as well as monitoring against quality and safety standards for business.

Responsibilities:

The key duties of the post are as follows: -

  • Complete management of the BS EN 3834 and BS EN 1090 accreditations
  • Reviewing and updating of the welding quality manuals
  • Assist with external audits
  • Ensure that welding activities are carried out in accordance with the standards and project requirements
  • Implement and prepare / write welding procedures in line with the relevant codes and standards
  • Qualify and maintain welder qualifications in line with the relevant codes and standards
  • Identify the need for new PQRs as per project requirements
  • Review client and contract documentation to identify necessary records and forms to satisfy requirements
  • Ensure customer requirements / technical reviews are carried out for projects
  • Produce data books for clients
  • Create and implement ITPs as per project requirements
  • liaise with clients, customers and subcontractors on technical matters
  • Review client quality plans
  • Auditing of welders
  • Maintaining and continuous improvement of the 9001 accreditation
  • Take part in internal and external audits
  • Reviewing and updating of the quality manual
  • Ensure that work activities are carried out in accordance with the standard and any project requirements
  • Take part in meetings and support main quality lead in all quality matters
  • Maintain and continuous improvement of the 14001 & 45001 accreditation
  • Lead monthly EHS meetings
  • Lead quarterly management review EHS meetings
  • Management of certain training requirements in conjunction with HR
  • Site visits when required

Key Skills:

Attributes and Technical Skills

  • Knowledgeable in current legislation
  • IT literate with excellent Excel and other Microsoft Office application skills;
  • Embraces change and has the ability to adapt to new situations / working methods;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with individuals as required;
  • Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to determine root cause by using analysis techniques
  • Self-motivating and able to work accurately at speed;

  • Positive attitude and reliable approach towards work;
  • Good communication skills.

Professional Qualifications / Relevant Experience

  • T IOSHH Qualification
  • HND/HNC Level
  • 5 years’ experience as Welding coordinator/QC Officer
