OLG Recruitment are looking for a Project Manager/Engineer to join our clients team, based on-site in the Teesside region. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday .

 

In this role, you will act as the client’s representative, leading, directing, and motivating a small team of site-based engineers to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects. These projects will vary in scale and complexity and must be managed across the full project lifecycle, including estimating, scoping, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, in line with the client’s project management processes.

 

The position is highly collaborative and outward-facing, requiring regular engagement with design consultancies, architects, equipment suppliers, and installation contractors to ensure successful project delivery. You will also contribute to early-stage project execution strategies in partnership with the client and take on bid management responsibilities, ensuring the preparation and submission of high-quality, compliant, and competitive proposals within agreed deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The Projects Manager is responsible for the overall performance of allocated projects
  • Delivery and reporting of projects on time to required quality and within budgets Contributing to the planning procedure and resourcing
  • Control of revenue expenditure within project budgets.
  • Development and production of project technical and commercial tenders
  • Setting of strategy for project execution
  • Engage with client key stakeholders and Engineering and Technology teams to co-ordinate design outputs for project
  • Project reporting of Health and safety, technical and commercial outputs
  • Ensure projects are planned and scheduled in line with client expectations and internal constraints.
  • Develop and support the team to maximise engagement and quality

  • Technically competent in a wide range of industrial processes and sectors.
  • Keeps up to date with project management trends and issues with the ability to adapt project delivery to ensure compliance.
  • Able to build relationships and  represent the company with senior client production management, project managers and directors.
  • Ability to assimilate knowledge and apply in a diverse range of situations.
  • Able to understand issues and risks quickly and act decisively to ensure successful project delivery, risk mitigation and high degrees of customer satisfaction.
  • Visionary in relation to the development of the Business and project delivery.
  • Ability to understand technical and contractual issues presented by technical experts and arbitrate as necessary to drive solutions and eliminate business risk.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively with other members of the organisation.
  • Excellent negotiating and problem solving skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation.
  • Participate in developing new business lines through networking and creating a wider knowledge of the technical offerings within the target business communities.

 

Professional Qualifications / Relevant Experience

  • The minimum qualification is a HNC/HND in an engineering subject or project management qualification looking to progress to chartered status
  • The position requires that the incumbent has in excess of 5 years’ experience of delivering site Based engineering projects within a contracting environment
  • Willingness to report and present to a company board
  • Desire to attain or possess project management qualification (APM or PMI or similar) would be an advantage
