We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Category Specialist to join our national clients procurement team. This is an ideal post for procurement specialist with 1-2 years experience and good stakeholder management skills to join an expanding team, offering great development and progression opportunities. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for end to end delivery of assigned procurement projects and work streams. Working simultaneously and across multiple customer accounts in line with the latest public procurement regulations. Support activities by updating plans, actions, reports and risk logs.

Duties will include ensuring the most effective spend of public money across the clients portfolio, utilising procurement systems and methodologies to support the delivery of procurement processes, and undertaking research and gain insights from procurement knowledge pool to identify best practice solutions to develop innovations that support the delivery of cost improvements and benefits to customers both internal/external.

The role holder must develop good working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, quickly building rapport and seeking support from category leads, and other category specialist & managers as require, as well as support the development and implementation of category plans and implement generate savings and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of PCR 2015 tender and contract documents and manage the analysis of complex returns for high value contracts. They will also authorise new contracts and purchase orders within area of responsibility and negotiate on contractual issues within area of responsibility; communicate statutory financial and procurement regulations to non-procurement people. The role holder will also be responsible the identification and delivery of saving initiatives across areas of project responsibility. In case of any variance from plan or delivery targets, they work with members of the team and key stakeholders to investigate the causes and contribute to the implementation of solutions.
