Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client located in North-East Lincolnshire. This is to support a shutdown position for 2 years.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will contribute to the maintenance of a positive HSEQI culture and achievement of the business HSEQI objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifying the scheduling of the different Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance tasks required to manage the integrity in the entity. 
  • Monitoring work progress on a continuous basis and inspected before it is recommissioned. 
  • Working with members of the Inspection team to establish FFS (fitness for service) of equipment.  
  • Pressure systems regulations compliance - Reviewing and identifying improvement actions (owner and due date), feeding it to relevant forum action log.  
  • Follow-up to ensure delivery on time to desired quality.
  • Maintaining spare parts strategy for IIS equipment based on criticality and purchasing strategy.
  • Supporting the Business and Project teams with the purchasing of new equipment or large modifications (including at TAR) with appropriate consideration for safety, reliability, quality (PED) and constructability.
  • Participating in the outage and T&I work scope preparations and execution for area of expertise
  • Ensuring that turnaround related actions are included in the turnaround scope.
  • Managing T&I work scope preparation including work scope, work list, scheduling, and work approval of work packages to ensure asset lifecycle and long-term process unit reliability. Including work list development, scope challenge versus criteria.
  • Ensuring all the technical records are updated after the T&I, including lessons learnt from previous T/A history & develop action plan. 
  • Managing and reducing the backlog of maintenance routines and breakdowns.
  • Overseeing major maintenance activities in accordance with site and statutory standards for both technical and commercial activities. 
  • Prioritising work notifications in line with business team needs and availability of spares.
  • Supervising contractors whilst they are on site. Sign timesheets and raise Service Entry Sheet etc.
  • Supporting execution of fabrication, installation and repair work, both on and off site, to ensure correct implementation of specifications, standards & best practice.

Qualifications and experience

  • Chartered engineer or suitable professional and technical competence demonstrated through experience.
  • IT literate with strong communication and co-ordination skills.
  • Knowledge of refinery processes
  • Minimum requirement HNC / HND in relevant engineering discipline Strong background of 5yrs+ in relevant engineering discipline, with additional experience on a full range of refinery electrical and analytical equipment.
