OLG Recruitment are currently looking for an Industrial Electrical Designer for our client located in Stallingborough. This is a long term, contract opportunity. The working window is 7am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Maximum of 9 hours per day – Generally 40 hours but occasional runs of overtime at same rate at busy periods
Office attendance is a requirement, working from home only by exception - Monday to Friday with an early finish on Friday around lunchtime is typical.
Job Title: Industrial Electrical Designer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrical Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and well organised candidate to work within an experienced engineering and design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design industrial electrical installations, including cable containment planning and routing
- Design and the support of distribution systems, including lighting and power circuits
- Work with motor control systems, including direct-on-line starters and variable speed drives
- Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD software
- Interpret client requirements and technical specifications to develop cost effective design solutions
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant and current UK regulations and standards
- Perform circuit load calculations, cable sizing, and selection of appropriate circuit protection
- Design temporary power solutions, including generator supplies
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Time-served apprenticeship with an approved electrician standard and solid industrial experience
- Knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems) an advantage
- Experience with PLC systems an advantage
- Familiarity with control panel design an advantage
- Working knowledge of CAD software preferably ‘AutoCad’ is an advantage, but training can be given
- Experience with cable calculation software such as Trimble (training can be provided)
Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (latest edition preferred but not essential)

- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers, clients, and site teams

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and undertake further training where required
- Flexibility to adapt to project requirements and site conditions
