The Role 

OLG Engineering are looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to work in the Engineering Design team within their office. This position will be based in Daresbury.  

You will report to the E,C&I Section Lead engineer, and will be responsible for all generation of Electrical deliverables as required on a project by project basis. These will typically include: 

•             Layout and Routing Drawings in 2D/3D 

•             General Arrangement Drawings 

•             Wiring Diagrams and Schematics 

•             Cable Sizing Calculations 

•             Relux Lighting Calculations 

•             Selection and design of equipment in Hazardous Areas 

•             Specification of variable speed drives. 

•             Data sheet production 

Due to diversification of the business, it will also be advantageous to have experience in instruments, but not essential: 

 The Successful Candidate will have the following: 

•             HNC/HND/BTEC/GNVQ in Electrical Engineering 

•             Engineering Apprenticeship plus formal design office training. 

•             3-5 years’ experience in Electrical Design activities  

•             AutoCAD experience in 2D/3D design 

•             Be up to date with the latest electrical regulations 

•             Experience of Amtech (Trimble) cable calculation software 

•             Knowledge of Microsoft products 

And would be advantageous if they also had, but not essential: 

•             Instrumentation Experience 

•             CompEx Part 12 - Application Design Engineer  

•             Appreciation of Functional Safety
